The S&P 500 formed a local spring today, and closed only slightly lower by -0.22%. Keeping the price action in a fairly tight range ahead of the Fed announcement on Wednesday at 2 p.m. ET. But, volatility is likely to expand once more, once the Fed rate decision is known.

Currently the S&P 500 is consolidating in its first significant base structure since its Stage 2 advance began, with 35.20% of stocks in the S&P 500 above their short-term 20 day EMAs, while 51.80% of stocks in the S&P 500 are trading above their longer-term 200 day MAs.
