Precious metals breaking out, while stocks are breaking down
With the market down there is a dominant theme today in the watchlist stocks with 3/4 of the stocks from the precious metals groups with numerous stocks in the group having significant bars today and gold itself in late Stage 1, which I posted about at the weekend.
S&P 500 , Nasdaq Composite, Russell 2000 and IBD 50
The large cap indexes attempted to hold the recent pivot low for most of the day, but succumbed to the pressure near the end of day when the institutional trading volume starts to pick up.
Meanwhile the small caps and growth stocks continued to lead on the downside with Stage 4 breakdown attempt in the Russell 2000 small caps today.
