IBD Industry Groups Bell Curve – Bullish Percent

Average Distribution: 51.60% (+0.49% 1wk)

  • 50 Groups (25.12%) are in the Stage 4 zone (Weak)
  • 78 Groups (39.20%) are in the Stage 1 or Stage 3 zone (Neutral)
  • 71 Groups (35.68%) are in the Stage 2 zone (Strong)

The IBD Industry Groups Bell Curve increased by +0.49% this week to finish at 51.60% overall.

The amount of groups in Stage 4 (Weak) decreased by 4 (-2%), and the amount of groups in Stage 2 (Strong) decreased by 4 (-2%), while the amount groups in Stage 1 or Stage 3 (Neutral) increased by 8 (+4%).

The ratio of the amount of groups increasing in the Strong (Stage 2) zone versus decreasing in the Weak (Stage 4) zone increased this week to 1.42, and so there are 42% more groups in the Stage 2 zone as are in the Stage 4 zone.

The overall average distribution remains in a very neutral position. But there's now a slight shift towards the positive side of the tape. With the majority of groups now in the Strong Stage 2 zone (60%+). Hence, it's continues to be a selective stock pickers market.
