A continuing theme of earnings gaps and numerous breakouts today. Things are feeling a bit frothy, but until there's evidence to the contrary. i.e breakouts start failing...

The broad market closed lower, but the market remains very split currently as many stocks had very strong moves today. A few are new additions to the watchlist below, but a lot were stocks that had already broken out and were continuing to move higher.

Another strong list of constructive price action, breakouts and earnings gaps today. The contrarian in me thinks that maybe it's a little bit too strong, which is making me cautious. But as long as they keep setting up and breaking out. it's when the breakouts start failing that I'll get more concerned.

A fairly large list tonight for the watchlist, with multiple stocks breaking out of consolidation patterns today.

The major US stock market indexes are once again at a potential turning point, with multiple failed breakout attempts over the last week in individual stocks and the market indexes themselves, which caused them to close slightly down on the week. But with a large wick on the upper part of the candle which is often bearish. But needs confirmation still.

For the watchlist from Thursdays scans - AAPL, ADBE, BAND, COUP, HEBT, MSFT, NOW, SHY. I also posted a number of charts on twitter throughout the day. Bitcoin (GBTC) was one that I found particularly interesting as it attempts to recover back into early Stage 1.

For the watchlist from Wednesdays scans - ATRC, CALX, CEMI, CGEN, EVER, FVRR, GILD, GNMK, HIMX, LSCC, MKSI, MRSN, PAYC, PCTY, PXLW, SPOT, VRML, VSTO, YUMC. The scans produced a vast number of stocks tonight to go through, and 80% of them looked the same, which were small caps breaking out of extremely depressed ranges on strong volume.

A smaller list tonight with a lot of early in the day breakout attempts and sharp reversals today. Here's tonights additions to the US watchlist from Tuesdays scans - AAXN, AMRK, CGNX, ENPH, GLOB, SVM, XONE

It was big list tonight to go through, with lots of cup and handle type patterns showing up in the scans. A few had decent volume, but in the majority the volume was only around average.

Although a fairly average up day in the market. There was still a number of interesting breakouts or stocks close to their breakout levels. More than half the stocks in my scans were healthcare related though, but only a few made it into the watchlist as most are very extended short term.
