GFI - New Stage 2A breakout attempt following a failed Stage 2A breakout in August. Volume is a bit above average, but didn't meet the 2x requirement that we look for. However, relative performance is strong and above a newly rising zero line and it's cleared near term resistance, and so showing good potential so far, but volume needs to improve.

CG.TO - Stage 1B. Watching for a Stage 2A breakout attempt.

WDO.TO - moved into Stage 2A in early December following a one year Stage 1 base and has shown an consistent increase in the relative volume since. Watch how it behaves on the initial Stage 2 pullback.

RIC.TO - the strongest gold stock of the last six months (stockcharts SCTR of 99.6), now attempting to make a further Stage 2 continuation breakout.

Would one even consider Gold Stocks while the US Gold Mining Index is still under the 150 day MA?

Yes, but only the very best stocks that meet the A+ criteria, as you need to remember that the index is just an average of all the stocks within it, and is a lagging indicator. And so in order to get into the leading stocks in a sector when it's possibly turning around like gold stocks might be currently, then you need to consider some test buys in the first stocks to move into Stage 2A. As otherwise when the sector chart as a whole does finally recover back into Stage 1, then the leading stocks will already be well into their Stage 2 advances and you would have missed their ideal entry points. Getting into the new leading stocks within a sector as it turns around one of the hardest parts of the method to be honest.

Long, HOLX. Volume is perhaps a tad shy of what we would like. Longer term the relative strength has been +ve but falling but it has spiked upwards in the last day or two. Not an A+ but useful for info I'd assume.
