Below is the data table for the Percent of Stocks Above 150 Day Moving Average in each sector which I've ordered by relative strength, with the highest to the lowest percentage in each sector. Also attached is the visual diagram of the 9 sectors and the NYSE Percentage of Stocks above their 150 day Moving Averages line chart.

Major Stock Indexes Update

Attached is the updated major equity index charts and relative performance table.

Note: The VIX has continued to move higher this week, and now sits at the top of the relative performance table, which is obviously negative unless it quickly reverses.

UK FTSE 350 Sectors Relative Performance

Attached is the Relative performance tables for the UK FTSE 350 Sectors.

FTSE 350 Sectors - Ordered by Overall RS Score

Forestry & Paper (NMX1730) moves to the top of the overall RS table this week, followed by Automobiles & Parts (NMX3350) and Mobile Telecommunications (NMX6570). At the bottom of the the table is Industrial Metals (NMX1750), Food Producers (NMX3570) and Mining (NMX1770).

   

FTSE 350 Sectors - Ordered by Weekly Change

The biggest positive weekly changes were in Mobile Telecommunications (NMX6570), Fixed Line Telecommunications (NMX6530) and Life Insurance (NMX8570), whereas the biggest losers of the week were Technology Hardware & Equipment (NMX9570), Beverages (NMX3530) and Tobacco (NMX3780).

   

FTSE 350 Sectors - Ordered by Monthly Change

The biggest positive movers over the last month have been Technology Hardware & Equipment (NMX9570), Real Estate Investment Trusts (NMX8670) and Mobile Telecommunications (NMX6570). Whereas, the bigger monthly fallers have been Industrial Transportation (NMX2770), Electricity (NMX7530) and Forestry & Paper (NMX1730).

RE: Stan Weinstein's Stage Analysis

I've found a different sub sector list that shows different performance levels over the last 12 months and could be a very useful edition to help us find the major themes. It's on OptionsMonster.com in the Researchlab tab, and then in Groups.

You can rearrange the order depending on the timescale you are interested in, and you can click on the group names and drill down into the stocks in the sectors.

Currently, if you order it by 3-Month, you can see that the top three sectors are:

  1. China Internet Companies
  2. Shipping Companies
  3. Solar
Which is obviously the same conclusion we've been coming to from our watchlist picks in the investor and trader method threads. So I think this sector sheet could be a useful edition to help us find the Weinstein candidates, as well as the sector lists on chartmill.com and stockcharts.com

I've attached the first page of the list below as an example.
