I then decided to identify the current stage of the S&P 500 stocks. See summary below. I made a column for general stage (i.e. 1,2,3,4) and detailed stage (i.e. 1a,1b,2a, etc.).

There were many stocks that were stage 2b (I took 2b as meaning that the price range of the stock was beginning to overlap with the previous weeks prices, but still in an uptrend) in the last few weeks, but in the most recent week they closed below previous weeks prices. I gave those a stage 3a. I'd welcome any feedback and also if anyone disagrees with the stages.

Stage Count Percent
1 /59/ 11.68%
2 /115/ 22.77%
3 /144/ 28.51%
4/ 187/ 37.03%
Total =  505

you did this by hand Diaz ie eyeballing each chart individually?

Yes by hand and eyeballing. I will probably do it again this weekend. Let me know if you disagree with any of the stages, thanks.

S&P 500 relative strength versus gold

I thought it would be interesting to plot the S&P500 versus gold and the relative strength of the S&P500 against gold.

It would be interesting to know what the %s were this last December to compare

Dejan does it every week, but for the entire US market. See the late December Stages % breakdown on this post on the second chart in: https://stageanalysis.net/forum/showthre...7#pid13167

Very interesting thanks for pointing it out. It seems there were almost 80% in stage 4 around December.
