Stage: stage 2 continuation.
Action: would you place a buy stop above the resistance now or just wait for a close above resistance and place a buy stop then?
Also because it's the UK exchange, I replaced the s&P 500 with the UK 100 index, is that common to do?

Firstly, the order type. As far as I have found few accounts, unless going for CFD or spreadbet, have buy stop limit orders as per the stage analysis book which limits their availability.
As for the exchange, to me that makes sense. But you could consider perhaps the FTSE250 as the FTSE100 has a lot of multinationals. But it is a personal preference. But always worth considering the relative strength of the US and UK markets. But if you look at the US you need to consider forex charges, order types and stock availability.
