RE: Stan Weinstein's Stage Analysis and Market Breadth - Technical Analysis
S&P500 versus Russell 3000
1. Price is looking like a volatility contraction pattern. However, volume is not drying up with a spike on Friday's move down to the 50 day SMA. Whether that bounces is unclear.
2. Advance /Decline and the volume version, the former has dropped not matching the previous high, the volume version is more bullish.
3. New highs minus new lows is neutral. The cumulative plot is still above its 100 day MA but is rolling back down.
The Weinstein Momentum, 5, and 1% Advance / Decline, 6, are on zero having been positive. The latter is actually slightly above it, but you likely need to zoom in to see that.
7 - 10 the various McClellan's are all bearish.
11-13, the various % stocks above various EMAs are all headed downwards, with only the % above the 200 day EMA being above 50%.
The silver 14 and gold 15 cross indicies are all headed downward, with the formet just dropping below 50% and the latter being at about 60%.
